Free Online Learning Opportunity for Parents!

Understanding, managing and reducing behaviour that challenges: for parents of children with Autism

We are delighted to announce Learning Link Scotland has received an award from #ShiftThePower Coronavirus Response Fund delivered by Corra Foundation who are working as an intermediary partner with Comic Relief in Scotland and the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

This award will enable us to provide an online course to support the wellbeing of families with young children with Autism.  It will support parents to recognise, understand and learn how to manage behaviours that are challenging across different settings.

Parents will be provided with weekly materials and individual support to identify strategies to identify behaviours that are challenging.  This means that by the end of the course parents will have a complete set of information that they can refer back to at a later date.

 Participants:

The course is open all parents of young children (up to 10 years of age) with a diagnosis of Autism.  The group experience will enable opportunities for parents to learn from and support each other.

 Delivery:

The course will be delivered over 8 weeks using the online platform Zoom.  Each session will be held on a Tuesday 20th April 2021 for 2 hours.  There will be a breaks and opportunities to meet and discuss strategies with other parents in breakout rooms.

Presenter:

This course will be delivered by Jasmine Miller, who is a community-based professional with knowledge and experience of working with young children with Autism and their families.

Start date and Enrolment:
This course will start on Tuesday 20th April. For more information and to enrol: Email Jhowie@learninglinkscotland.org.uk
