Webinars – Reform of the Scottish Qualifications Authority and Education Scotland

INVITE TO ATTEND WEBINAR SESSION ON REFORM OF THE SCOTTISH QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY AND EDUCATION SCOTLAND

About this Event

The Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills announced on 22 June 2021 the intention to replace the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and consider a new specialist agency for both curriculum and assessment while also taking forward reform to Education Scotland, including removing the function of inspection from the agency. Professor Ken Muir, University of the West of Scotland, has been appointed to act as an independent advisor to the Scottish Government to consider and advise on the implementation of the reform that will consider all functions currently delivered by both the SQA and Education Scotland.

Professor Muir is keen to engage widely to hear the views and ideas from all those with an interest in Scottish Education. This webinar is an opportunity to hear first-hand about this work and to have your say on shaping the future of the national bodies supporting Education in Scotland.  These webinars will support a written consultation which will be launched at the end of September.  We would encourage you to share this invite and the consultation when it is issued, as widely as possible through your networks.
