November 2019 will mark the centenary of the Ministry of Reconstruction’s Final Report on Adult Education. This set the groundwork for British adult education during the 20th century. Its centenary offers a vital opportunity to reflect on the needs and possibilities for adult education today and for the century ahead.

Consultation
The work of the Centenary Commission includes creating a report on adult education today and is taking a wide definition of adult education, whether for personal, civic or economic motives, whether informal or leading to formal qualifications, whether publicly, privately or community financed, and whether work based, or taking place in the community, college, universities or schools. The Centenary Commission welcome suggestions and evidence that might contribute to a transformative adult education system that’s fit for the 21st Century.
